Braxton Hicks question

Ash • Baby due, how bout you 💞

Is the only thing that happens is the tightening of the stomach?? I’m confused on what all would come with having a Braxton contraction

Yes it’s just tightening of your stomach/uterus. They can be uncomfortable but should not be painful. Contractions are tightening with very painful period like cramping or back pain. My doctor said that Braxton Hicks can still be labor is they are consistent and don’t stop.

I feel like pain wise it’s different for everyone. Especially toward the end you overthink every little twinge. I think the biggest thing is like she said, they’re not consistently timed or getting stronger

I have Braxton Hicks that I would consider painful. Like, make you stop what you’re doing and breathe. But as long as they don’t continue/get stronger/more frequent, you just deal with it.

Sometimes I’m not sure if I’m confusing them with just how the baby is laying. I think I’m having them I’m just not sure completely 😂

Mine are so strong. Take my breath away every time. Feels like period cramps and an elephant sitting on my uterus all at once 😫

Braxton hicks contractions are a relatively painless tightening of the stomach. You may not even realize it happens if your hand isn't on your stomach depending on how strong it is.

Only real difference between BH and real contractions are that real are timeable and usually feel them in back or hips too. However when I went into labor with my last 3 I just felt nauseous every 5 minutes, never had a "contraction" even though I had BH earlier in the pregnancy

I have mild Period cramps with my Braxton Hicks. As long as they don’t get stronger or regular. And Braxton Hicks will stop usually if you move around
