period blood mucus

My period blood is like blood tinged snot. It’s not normal for me, but I don’t know if it’s normal in general. It came out in a wipe early this morning as a thick pinkish red mucus, and then didn’t come back until just now where it did the same thing and went away again. I tried to use a tampon in case it comes back heavy while i’m out and about but my body full on rejected it.

I had unprotected sex with my man last night so perhaps this ”mucus” is just his leftovers? Either way it’s super weird and oddly sticky/stretchy
