Who has had a water birth?

I had an absolutely FANTASTIC water birth, I plan on doing it for this baby too. I would say if you’re seriously considering it do as much research as you can, prepare for it, take a class, practice breathing. I used to lay in my bathtub with my music while I was pregnant and just get used to being in the water and calming myself. It’s not for everyone but being mentally prepared is your best friend. My midwives weren’t even concerned that I did it without a doula because I was so ready for it. I don’t even talk about it that much because I had such a great experience

The water helped me immensely with the pain toward the end of labor...i was even falling asleep between contractions (had a long labor and hadn’t slept the night before). I definitely recommend it, it was an amazing experience for me

My friends doctor told her she recommended her being in the water for the contractions etc but when it came time to push she suggest not giving birth in the water. Could be certain bacteria’s etc in the water.
