How much cereal in bottle???

No judgement please I already know the risks and what not just wanna hear from mommas that have done the same. So my son is almost 4 months and I think he needs to have a little cereal in his bottle before bed since he’s been waking up more than normal to eat. He gets 5 ounces how much cereal should I put to thicken his bottle up a little???

He is entering the 4 month sleep regression. He does not need cereal in his bottle. It is a myth that cereal in the bottle helps babies sleep.

At 4 months my son was eating 6-10oz every 2 hours. Our ped was encouraging of it.
Giving rice cereal too early (or at all) deprives them of necessary nutrients they need to be healthy.

Cereal is not gonna make him sleep longer. Doesn’t work that way. If baby doesn’t sleep long it’s because they’re not ‘ready’ for it. And rice cereal especially will probably make him constipated.

If baby waking up more then usual it be a growth spurt so give more formula.. I wouldn’t bother with cereal.. or try a hungry baby milk that’s thicker and fills them up more..

What’s more than normal? How do you know it’s from hunger and not an inability to fall asleep independently? Rice cereal won’t help you there.

Unfortunately it won't help. If you really think he's waking up because he's hungry and not because of a sleep regression, look into doing a dream feed
