Breast milk and formula?

Is it ok for me to mix her formula and breast  milk in the same bottle?

Answer

Yes you can, but I would advise against it because of the different rules for breastmilk and formula and how long they can be out of the refrigerator. Breastmilk doesn’t go bad as quickly as formula. Also, if your baby doesn’t finish the bottle, you they won’t be getting all the breastmilk. I would feed the breastmilk first and then too off with formula.

IF you do, you need to prepare the formula with the correct amount of water and then add the breastmilk to the prepared formula. 
But as Jenn said, it’s better to keep them separate and always feed the full amount of breastmilk first before offering formula so your baby is getting as much breastmilk as possible.

Absolutely. Just account for the ounce difference to make the right formula amount. Although add the breastmilk last if you’re putting it in the microwave to heat up. Can’t heat up the breast milk in there. Or even just with hot water, I’d add it after you mix the formula. At least that’s what we’re doing with supplementing. Want to keep the breast milk good and not break it down. ❤️
