High BP and labor?

If you have higher blood pressure but all your labs are good, proteins are good, do they insist on continually monitoring you while you labor, or are you free to move about?

I would ask your OB and the labor and delivery department at your hospital. Every doctor has a different procedure and every hospital has different protocol as far as monitoring goes. It may also depend on what your BP actually ends up being; high blood pressure can be dangerous and if it’s really high absolutely should be closely monitored.

My bp was high and I had slight protein in my urine but midwife said we will just monitor for now

They monitor the entire time at my hospital, regardless of high blood pressure. If your blood pressure gets too high during labor you could have a stroke, or it could be a signal that something is wrong. It’s really no different then the reasons why they would monitor you when you are not in labor, just more consistent because you are being put under a lot of stress is all.
