I was 4 days late when I finally got a barely there squinter line. Convinced myself it was an evap then tested the next day at 5 days late then i saw a convincing line. I was usually 28 day perfect cycle but that time i think i ovulated late

Do you track ovulation? There’s always a possibility you ovulated later than you thought.
