When you start talking to someone new

How many people do you roughly talk to while on dating apps? Like that connection once you start having conversations with someone, find something to properly talk about and not just the general small talk. I'm just curious 🤔

I have a real bad habit at making a connection and stop talking to everybody else so basically I screw myself over if the one person I'm talking to doesn't work? 😂 So now I basically force myself to keep my options open instead of giving only one person all my attention.

One or two and I would talk to them about 3 weeks before meeting in person. If they stick around talking for that long, I know they're not just trying to get laid. If I stick around that long and I want to meet, by then, I know our goals and interests are similar, we'll probably get along, and I can relax, have fun, and see if there's a spark.
I don't want to have to worry about time management with more than 2. That's why I wasn't polyamorous very long any of the times I had those dynamics.

Maybe just one or two at a time. It’s hard to maintain that connection and interest though.. I’ve had many convos just end abruptly because I got too bored after trying multiple times to liven up the conversation.. I’m in a relationship now from a dating site and in fact my last 3 relationships all began on the same site. So it can definitely happen!

I get bored really easy so I tend not to want to put my eggs all in one basket, unless there is a real undeniable connection that really draws me in.
