Baby-wearing time limits?

Does anyone know if there are recommended time limits for baby-wearing (in a soft structured carrier), either max time in a row or max time per day?

An OT I was reading today said if your baby is awake for 10 hours, the goal would be for 5 of those to be free and uncontained by carriers, swings, seats, etc. Being in containers does limit their progress toward gross motor skill goals.
