Blood thinners and tattoos?

I have to take my blood thinners every day (xarelto) but I really want a tattoo. Has anyone done this?
What is it like? Are there things to do to prep for it? Is aftercare different?

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty certain you can't get a tattoo if you're taking blood thinners. Your blood can't clot properly. You put yourself at risk of infection and major blood loss. And even if you do find an artist willing to work with you (probably not a reputable one if they do) the tattoo can be damaged with all the extra blood.

Why would a tattoo be more important than your health? As it you aren’t getting poked enough already.

It’s not a big deal, you might just bleed a little more while getting tattooed. Aftercare is the same
