Our ❤️s couldn’t be any fuller
Emma Grace made her arrival on 1/21 at 708am, weighing 6 ibs 10.9 oz and 19 1/2”.
Let me start by saying that I had every sign of impending labor from 36 weeks on and the night I went into labor I had absolutely ZERO signs of labor coming!
On 1/20, I finally made my way to bed around 1230am. I woke up at my usual time of 2am to go to the bathroom. As I rolled over I heard a small pop and a gush of fluid. I just thought I peed myself but as I got up to go to the bathroom I realized that it was not stopping. I went and woke up my husband to tell him to get a shower because we would be needing to leave in a little bit for the hospital. I was not having any contractions, so I didn’t feel the need to rush out the door. My mother in law lives next door. We called her to come over to sit with our 6 year old. As we headed off to the hospital the contractions started and were 5 mins apart. Within a few contractions they got to 2 mins apart and the hospital was 45 minutes away. We made it and was taken to triage. I was 80% effaced and 4 cm dilated. They booked me in our room and appx 2 hours later I was 5-6 cm dilated. I was holding off on the epidural as long as possible but the pain was getting unbearable. Within an hour of the epidural the nurse checked me and said it’s time to push. I couldn’t believe it! Everything happened so fast. I pushed for appx 15 mins and Emma made her arrival. From the time my water broke to Emma’s arrival, I was in labor for 5 hours!
We were released the next day around 3pm and we have been home adjusting as a new family of 4. Our ❤️’s couldn’t be any fuller!
