My birth story!
So happy to finally be telling this story to you all! After an eventful morning on January 24th at my routine 41 week appointment with my 2 year old son with me they checked me I was 3cm and she said they would be inducing me within 24-48 hours as that’s the norm. Immediately after getting checked I passed out not sure why (low blood pressure). My son was next to me saying mama medicine and I was so out of it I felt terrible. I was sent by ambulance and they finally were able to get some answers out of me when I got to hospital as I was pretty clouded. My husband rushed from work an hour away and my son was in great hands and all family concerned. They informed me I would be starting pitocin soonish. I started it at about 2:45pm at 3cm I feel like it took a while for contractions to really come on strong, my idea of a plan was no epidural like my first (5 hour total labor with him and went hours before my induced time naturally). When the doctor came in to check me at about 9pm I was 5.75cm I was kind of discouraged but everyone kept saying I’m going to stick around because second babies are fast and your first was... well glad they did because those contractions got strong long and close together I rode them out and next thing I knew I had to push hardcore at about 11:05pm no time for my doctor to come in so a midwife took over and delivered our beautiful baby boy Calan Richard Hatfield at 11:08pm weighing 8lbs 3.25 ounces and 21 1/4 inches long! Good size for my small belly and so happy to have held him in my arms and feeling good! Good luck to you mamas
