How much do y'all or would y'all tip on a 400$ tattoo?

My tattoo was $350 and I gave the guy $100 as a tip. If you are planning to get another by the same artist I would tip more because then when you go back they tend to give you a lower price.

I always tipped 20% when I got tattoos. I don’t know if that’s right or wrong, it’s just what I did.

At minimum $80 but I typically tipped really well with my tattoos so I’d probably be in the $100-$150 range. If you like the art you shouldn’t be tipping less then 20%. If you can’t afford such a high cost then you wait until you have the funds.

You guys too Tattooist’s too?! In the UK you get your quote and that’s all you pay. I’ve never known anyone to tip a tattooist 😂

I feel like it depends where they work. If they are in their own shop where all the money goes to them I’d probably go for like 40$.
If they work in someone else shop I’d tip 100$. 
Also, is the 400$ a regular price or special price?

Wow. For those who said no tip... what the hell? Service industry... they took their time, their ink, and y’all gonna say no tip? Who doesn’t tip an artist? They do everything they can to make your tattoo look good... that hurts that whoever said they don’t tip an artist...

Mine took 7 hours, I paid around $900, and I would normally have tipped 20%. But he stayed after hours and we finished the entire thing in a single session so I tipped $250 because of the time it took out of his personal life, and because it was beautifully done. Their service was great though, they found out that I hadn’t eaten anything beforehand and the receptionist went out and bought me the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten (probably because I was starving and in pain). So the whole thing plus a tip was around 1,150.
