I think I would be sad... but if there was a good reason, I would accept it. As long as my partner was still planning on staying with me

For me it would depend on the reason.  Meaning do they just not believe in marriage?  Would marriage impact some benefit they receive that we could not carry jointly?  I know some people have not gotten married because it would affect the disability benefits they get.

Prior to being married yes. If something happened to my husband and I was a widow then I am not sure. Probably not. It's too hard to picture being remarried.
