Jaundice?

Question

I swear my son has a yellow tint in his face. And his eyes. The dr the other day said she didnt notice. I'm insane lol anyone deal with jaundice and can tell me when its dangerous? Hes eating fine and having good diapers etc. And acting normal. I've never dealt with it so idk if it's my imagination lol hes 13 days old. I cant get a good pic or I'd post one lol

Usually if they are going to have jaundice it's soon after they are born.
My daughter had it for a while. They tested her 3 times in the hospital to Make sure her levels were down before we left. At her first check up she was still a little yellow but MUCH better than she was before. 
We were told since it wasn't a certain level, just put her in front of the window for a few min. A day. 
I'd keep an eye on it, & like others say, the window wouldn't hurt.

Both of kids had jaundice I put them in front of a window in the morning with the sun hitting them. I would do it when the sun wasn’t harsh like around 7- 8. They were just in diaper. They had yellow tint and the white area of the eyes were yellow.

My newborn born 01/04 had high levels and when we left it was down, went to his first appointment and it was high again they suggested to keep feeding him because the breast milk actually help get levels normal and nog direct sunlight but open up blinds n let baby sit in front.. he is fine now it will resolve it self

You should post a picture, those I've us who've dealt with it could tell you at a glance. It's one of those things that's obvious if it's a problem. My son and I had a blood type incompatibility that made his jaundice particularly bad. We are all jaundice at birth but it's usually not a problem and fades after a day or 2. If not, your doctor would have known. Did they do a test where they pricked your babies heel? That would've caught any jaundice problems. If he's alert and eating well with normal diapers he's absolutely fine. My son would sleep where nothing could wake him and we'd have to struggle to get him to eat. It was a tough, terrifying first 10 days. He's fine now though :)

If your are worried about it bring it up don't wait for them to notice!!!!! Get a test done and make them explain where your child is at and what are levels to look out for and such!! At least for the peace of mind get his level on bilirubin.

My baby didn’t even look jaundice but yet he had it, the coloring doesn’t always have something to do with it. The hospital should have checked his levels instead of just looking at the baby.

My middle was scarily jaundiced,  we has to go back to the hospital lighting because the bilirubin blanket they sent home with us wasn't enough.  They told me that it releases from the body from the feet up, so the head is the last to fade from the yellow tint. I have not done further research on this to know if its correct, but it seemed to be true.
