Parental consent on contraceptives
How would you feel if your daughter got birth control with out your permission?
In many states a minor 12 or over can be put on birth control without their parents/guardians knowledge or consent. What are your opinions on this?
”Contraceptive Services: 26 states and the District of Columbia allow all minors (12 and older) to consent to contraceptive services. 20 states allow only certain categories of minors to consent to contraceptive services. 4 states have no relevant policy or case law.”
When I was 14 I asked my guardian to take me to the doctor to look into birth control. they said no, and that I was too young. The same day I called my Docter and took the bus to her clinic and relieved the nexplanon implant. When my guardian found out months later, they were extremely upset that they weren't made aware or asked to sign for it. How would you feel in the same situation?
