No baby shower?

Question

Is anyone else just sourcing their own baby items, as in no registry or shower? I have no friends or family in the town I live for work, plus baby showers aren’t very common in my area anyway. I’m also getting most things from second-hand stores and Facebook groups. 
I feel a bit sad and isolated sometimes seeing all the shower/registry posts here, but I also know I’m doing what’s right for me (at least I hope so..).

I’m not having a baby shower because of the same reason! I don’t live in the same state as my family, in laws, or friends. What I did was order cards with my registry on them and sent them out to my family and friends. It has an announcement of the gender on it so that it doesn’t sound too “hey buy me stuff”

I'm not having a baby shower and the only reason I did a registry is because my coworkers kept asking me if I had one. Otherwise I wouldn't have either. It isn't weird to not have them. This is my first child so I love being able to pick out things and get to have that fun.

definitely consider doing a registry. A lot of the places you do it will offer you a discount for what you dont buy. Like target does 15%. no one even has to buy you anything you wouldn't even have to share it.

Don't be hard on yourself girl. I have like 3 friends they want me to have a baby shower and I just think it's just a waste of time. I just got a free crib off of group in Facebook. And if I cant get other things second hand stores or off of Facebook I will purchase myself.

I wasn’t going to have one because I only have a few friends in the area and no family, but one friend is determined to host one since this is my first baby. Now I have to make a guest list and I just hate asking people to buy me stuff 😞

This is my 2nd but I didn't have one with my 1st..we bought everything ourselves..just buy as you go to see what you actually will need and use.
