What do you think? Was I in the wrong?
For my mom's birthday, we were all getting together at her house. For food, it was a pitch in style, so everyone was making something. It was just going to be myself, my husband, my siblings, and grandparents.
I was talking to my older sister, she was kind of helping coordinate what food everyone should make. She suggested I make spinach and artichoke dip because our mom really likes it.
I knew that my older sister and my mom were the only 2 people attending who liked artichokes, but everyone liked spinach dip, so I decided to just make that. The exact same dip, just without the artichoke. That way everyone could enjoy it. I did not want to make a whole dip just for 2 people.
I got there and everyone started eating it, saying how good it was, but then later on my sister got all mad at me for not adding the artichokes. I explained my reasoning and she just kept saying that this get together was not for everyone else, it was for our mom, so it shouldn't matter what everyone else liked or didn't like.
I mean, I understand that, but she still enjoyed it, even without the artichoke. There was plenty of other food there as well. That was last week. It's done. It's over with. Everyone has already eaten the food, pooped it out, and forgotten about it. Oooh, but not my sister. She's still pissy about it. We are planning another get together next month and she made a comment about making sure I make the right food this time (not in a joking manner either).
Was I so in the wrong for not adding the artichokes in it? If so, I will apologize. I was just doing what I thought was most practical.
