My 2 year old keeps getting this rash on his legs and stomach and arms. The doctor said it was viral. It goes completely away after a few weeks but comes back a few days after it's gone. This keeps coming back for 3 months now. Is this normal?

Have you tried changing laundry soap? A viral rash usually stays for a while, often only on one side of the body, and then it's gone. If it keeps coming back it might be a light sensitivity to something else, like soaps or lotions. Or if you have pets, maybe.

Could be food allergies but also look at the areas it comes in mostly in the limbs, could be something he is in contact with, more on the face neck or chest could be something he is eating, groin or legs could be his diapers or something that only comes into contact with that area slowly eliminate potential allergens and you may find the cause if not then could be a skin condition like eczema
