Rubella Vaccines

MrsK

We’ve been trying to conceive for 6 months and I just got in with an obgyn to talk about fertility and establish care. One of the things they did was draw blood to see if I’m immune to Rubella. And if not I will have to get a vaccine and wait 3 months before trying again. I teach 4/5 year old so this is really important apparently. Why have a never heard of this!?! I feel like this is vital information that no one talks about! What if I had gotten pregnant before my appointment and wasn’t immune !?

Of all the unsolicited advice everyone gives, not one person mentioned this!?! I’m totally fine waiting 3 months so my baby is healthy, but I’m pissed that 2 general doctors, all my family, friends, coworkers (teachers), and every random joe that knows we are trying haven’t said a word about it!
