How did you know you'd like them?

Question

I'm considering a cloth diaper service but you have to prepay for 8 weeks. For disposables we were planning to try out a few brands and see what fits/works best. Do all cloth diapers fit the same? Did anyone have a baby that they just didn't work well with? The service is for prefolds.

Covers and prefolds are great...I would use them almost exclusively except a friend gave me her entire stash of pockets.

I did a service for 3 months at the beginning. Prefolds and covers. After 3 months I purchased my own prefolds. They are by far the best and most versatile cloth diaper. They works for every baby. I have pockets and AIOs and they leak and are hard to clean. Cotton prefolds are definitely the best.

I wouldn’t do prefold for a first time cloth diapering experience. Not that i have experience at all lol
I’d do pocket diapers or all in ones. 
Not all diapers will fit all babies.

No, all cloth diapers do not fit the same. I bought several different kinds to try. AppleCheeks have never worked well on my baby (as an example). It’s too bad, because they are the most readily available where I live, and I would have loved to go with a Canadian brand.
I loved my prefolds we got for our newborn - they were the best for holding in the runny newborn poops. But not all covers will fit every baby properly because babies are all shaped differently, especially around the thighs.

My mom bought me 4 months diaper service and it was amazing!! First kid, prefolds were easy and terrific. Highly recommended. When service ran out we bought our own prefolds and are washing our own.

I have been using a cloth diapering service (that uses prefolds) for two years. It’s worked really well for us, and we are planning to continue the service  with our next kid.
