Tampons or Pads?

I’m 15 and I just started my period yesterday (yes quite late I know) and I’ve heard from my mum and friends not to use tampons straight away so I’m using pads at the moment, but when is a good time to start using tampons?
Also tampon and pad UK brand recommendations appreciated! xx

I recommend to start with pads. I started using tampons when I was 11, but that was how I felt. How do you feel?

I use pads most of the time. I use tampons if it's really heavy or my pad is uncomfortable. Tampons are pretty easy to use if you can get it down. Just use what you want

Personally I prefer pads but you can use tampons any time I know someone who used them from the start. Just make sure you use them properly and change them frequently.
