Hi! I am 38 years old and recently diagnosed with PCOS. I have always had irregular periods, and always over weight, yet just now diagnosed. I did a pelvic ultrasound and she found small cysts on one ovary, but everything else looked good. My doctor prescribed me metformin to help with weight loss since PCOS is known to have insulin resistance. I’ve heard TERRIBLE things about metformin. So I have a few questions:

1. Has any one taken metformin for PCOS?

2. What were your side effects?

3. How long did you take if?

4. Did you notice any significant positive change (weight loss, feel better, more regular periods)?
