I'm doing a parent/tot swim class with my son. He has holding a rubber ducky and a little white girl kept coming over to him and taking it, like 3 times. Every time she did, she would say look daddy he passed me the duck. The dad would say, "yay now pass it back. You guys are playing pass." Now, every time she took the duck, my son would get a little upset. Would it have been wrong of me to say something to the father like, "he doesn't know their playing, so you should probably teach your daughter not to just take things from people instead of reinforcing the behavior."? I mean, I felt like that was some white people ish to spin it for their child.
