18 day long period

I've been on my period for 18 days now, and last month was 15. Normally, my cycle is 4 to 7 days. I've been clotting heavily this month. I have a doctors appointment scheduled for Monday, but I was wondering if anyone else had a similar situation and what they learned from it. Thanks!
