Are you okay with marrying someone that isn’t your religion?

That should be something to think about before marriage don’t ya think? Luckily neither me or my bf are religious, however I know plenty of families who’s parents are different religions and they respect and support each other’s views because their relationship is about more than following religion. It all depends. I think not liking someone because of their religion is ridiculous unless that person is trying to push their religion on you.

I did. I’m Catholic and my husband is Muslim.

No because that would be too heartbreaking for me to believe that I would never see that person again after they died.

I’m not religious and my philosophy is that I would marry someone who was religious so long as they didn’t expect me to convert. I’d be happy to have a ceremony that went with their beliefs and I’d go to any major events that were important to them, I just wouldn’t necessarily want to go to church/temple/etc every week. I wouldn’t ask them to give up their religion for me, and I wouldn’t want to have to pretend to be religious for them. I think what’s most important is that you have a mutual respect for each other’s beliefs. Also, I personally don’t want kids but I know that if you do that complicates things, since you have to decide if you want to raise them religious.

My so and I are both atheist heathens. I definitely wouldn’t be able to be with someone who wanted me to go to church with him or.. yeah it would just cause a lot of arguments and I just can’t relate to that at all

I’m Christian and my SO is Catholic we definitely don’t care about that .

It depends. I am an atheist and if they are someone who is constantly trying to shove the Bible down my throat, I would not be with them. If they were super religious, Itd be a no from me. 
My SO now is catholic and we are great together despite him being Catholic and me being an Atheist. He listens to me when I talk about why I don’t believe in God, and I listen to him when he talks about why he does. It all depends on how the person goes about being religious.
