Another Feb baby turn January!
I posted in here a couple of weeks back about our little one measuring behind. Turns out it was severe IUGR and the placenta pretty much stopped working properly around weeks 35-36. My husband is military so he was away from home when I found this out. They got him home early just in time! The day after he got home we found out we were being induced. Four days later we were at the hospital ready to go at 5:00 am at 37 weeks. Since I was not dilated whatsoever, the doctor said that it could take anywhere from 8-16 hours to get fully dilated on pitocin.
They started a pitocin drip just to see how the baby would handle the contractions. Once they saw all was good, they stopped the pitocin and started Cytotec to soften my cervix. I never ended up needing the pitocin again as my body kicked into full gear. I dilated to once cm after some hours, and then it all started from there. I ended up having terrible back labor, and dilated from 1 cm to 7 cm in the matter of about an hour or so. After only 12 hours from when we got there, we welcomed our baby boy!
He was 3lbs 15 oz at birth. I didn’t get to hold him right away as they had to whisk him off, but once I did, it was amazing. He is gaining weight like a champ despite his jaundice. Noah is doing great 😍
