Two middle names?

Why do people find it odd to give two middle names? I guess I’m just use to it being I have 2. I never been asked why I had two or if they both have special meaning? But with my son I been asked why a lot and if this baby will have 2. My middles do kinda have meaning, my mother love Michelle and my father wanted to pass down the middle name Lynn because it was his great great grandmothers maiden name that was given to him as a middle name because of that. Well we picked Michael as a middle for our son and lasted minute decision I had to add Lynn being my family reason and happened to be his fathers middle name too. Now I feel being I passed down the 2 middle name thing with my son my daughter needs two like Marcella Michelle Lynn.

I have two middle names because George bush did. So that’s fun, haha. It just makes paperwork kind of annoying, my second middle name is pretty much nowhere except for my birth certificate and ss card, and my name is just really long. Nothing wrong with wanting to do it though!

I personally don’t care for nthe 2 middle name thing for a few reasons. 1: how do you monogram the name? 2: banking systems don’t usually allot space for 2 middle names and it can be a pain to prove it when someone makes an entry mistake - and it happens more than you think. 
I have a double first name and while I like my name, it’s really frustrating to deal with sometimes. At 31, I’ve given up on asking people to call me by my proper name. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Its not that difficult, but no one remembers it.  
But if you really love the name, go with it and to heck with whatever anyone says. You do you boo!

My brother is the only person I know of with two middle names, but I've never thought it was odd at all. They're family names, so I think it's nice. ☺️
We plan to go with only one for this baby, but if we had a good reason for two, I'd have no qualms about adding one. 
My husband doesn't even have a middle name, which I find much more odd than having two!

I have two middle names and so did my ex husband,  so we gave both our girls two middle names as well. Im pregnant again with a boy and he will have two middle names as well.

My daughter has two middle names , and same with my son , chosen for meaningful reasons .
This pregnancy I am also chosen two middle names with meaning .
So all 3 of my kids have 2.

Culturally in America it’s not very common, and it can cause some annoyances with paperwork and stuff. My brother is giving all of his children two middle names, but it’s because his wife is Brazilian and they wanted to give their kids an “American” middle name and also follow Brazilian tradition of giving all the kids the mother’s maiden name. In that case it makes sense to me. But my husband’s sister gave her son two middle names because they couldn’t pick just one, and that seems a little silly to me. But whatever, not my kid and it’s really not a big deal.

One of my friends has 3 kids and each has two middles names. I don't think there is anything wrong with it but I do think about when they have to sign legal documents. Buying a house is no joke imagine if you had to sign 4 names every time. That's all I think about when I think of names that long. However, I don't think thats a reason to NOT give them a second middle name.
