Side sleeper?!! Help!!!

Question

LO is 5 1/2 months and can roll back and forth during tummy time. However he sometimes needs help rolling back onto his back during these times and now sleeps on his side. I put him to bed on his back but he naturally goes to this position after just minutes of being put down!
I'm freaking out. He's never done this and I JUST transitioned him to his cot. HOW DO I GET HIM TO STAY ON HIS BACK!! 😭

If he can roll and you put him on his back to sleep and he decides to roll on his side then it's fine. My son has only done it a couple of times but my hv told me as long as I put him on his back to begin with. I've only rolled him back if he started fussing in his sleep.

This is ok!! As long as you put them down on their back. Sleeping on side or tummy is ok if they do it on their own. Mine sleeps on her side every night.

If he can roll it’s safe. My son sleeps on his belly now.

My baby has slept on side since he was 5 days old so we are used to it now but your baby is fine if he can roll both ways. I wouldn’t panic about side sleeping at all.

No good news, ours started that and then after about a week she's doing this ( this after I turned her head to the side bc it was flat down in the mattress) but in that few days she's been practicing rolling she's able to go both ways now . Still nerve wracking

My daughter is a side sleeper. She can roll both ways, so I just leave her be. Her pediatrician said if she rolls both ways I don’t need to flip her back. Just to always put her down on her back.
