My dog won’t stop barking
I have a big dog. My husband and I (and our two kids) just moved in with my parents a few months ago, while we house hunt for a new home. We’ve been here for almost 2 months, and only plan on staying one more month. Our dog will not stop barking at my parents, or anyone who comes into our house. He was like that when we got him, whenever we would have company over he wouldn’t stop barking at them so we’d have to put him in a separate room. My mom suggested we buy a bark collar, it was a collar that had a remote where I could make it beep or make it shock him. I would use the beep to kind of train him, when he would bark I would beep and if he kept barking I would shock. It worked great for a while, the beep would usually get him to stop, but we lost the remote so now he’s back to barking again. I’m at a loss. He barks loud and deep and he scares my parents other grandchildren when they come over because he barks at them too. He’s not mean and he doesn’t attack, he just barks and runs away. I don’t know what to do to get him to stop barking, I hate having to lock him in a room but I hate to have him bark at my parents in their own house.
He’s spent plenty time with them, they’ve tried giving him treats, they’ve tried playing with him, they’ve tried not doing anything and just letting him sniff them, he always ends up barking at them.
