Why don’t people like the name Hugo? What is wrong with it? I absolutely adore it but everyone hates it

people have different tatses. and people on this site expecially like to be mean about others choice in names. 
I got nasty comments when I asked about the name Fox. 
oh well I ended up naming my son it anyway! don't let others persuade you you choose what you want.

Just reminds me of a big buff hairy man 😂 so I guess it’s hard to picture a baby named that. But it’s really not a bad name 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m one who doesn’t like it, but I can’t even explain why. I just don’t like how it sounds. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad name! We all have opinions and who knows why a name sounds good or bad to any one person? My husband dislikes most of the names I’ve suggested for both our babies, so I understand where you’re coming from. It’s hard when you’re in love with a name but others don’t get it. In my opinion, as long as it’s a name that won’t easily get made of fun of, or have ridiculous spelling (unnecessary letters, apostrophes, etc) then I say go for it if you love it.

I like Hugh and dislike Hugo; not really a fan of names ending in O, personally. Hugo is not dratted awful, but it’s just not my style. 
If you like Hugo, then use it! It’s your kid, and it’s a reasonable name that will fit an adult as well. 🙂
