Military wives?

My boyfriend is thinking about joining the marines. As a concerned girlfriend, I have lots of questions and worries that can’t seem to be answered with things I find online. Mostly about the housing situations and such. If any of you ladies could message me I’d appreciate it!!
Edit: I know for us to count for housing we’d have to be married, if he does decide to join we will get married before he leaves. Thanks ladies!

You need to be married to count for housing. Girlfriends don’t count, and if he’s single, he will be assigned dorm style housing. He will also get less housing allowance if he can choose off-base at some point.

It’s better to get married if he wants full BAH benefits, and if you want to live with him of course. You can either live on base or use the BAH off base for an apartment or rent house. The amount depends on the zip code he’s stationed at.
