My girls are 7 and 16 months. We are not quite ready emotionally nor financially for another baby and it wasn’t something we were considering until recently (we had decided when baby is nearing 4, we will assess our situation and try for another- we even gave all the baby stuff away already). Suddenly, we are panicking that we will miss the window for having siblings close in age. Other moms keep telling me not to wait or the older sibling won’t have a close bond with the new baby. While my older daughter adores her younger sister, because she’s much older, she has vastly different interests and doesn’t really enjoy playing with her. Come to think of it, at 4 years old, my daughter would have been super jealous and territorial toward a younger sibling. Now, I feel like time is ticking and I need to be pregnant by the time the baby is 2 ish in order to have kids close enough in age to prevent issues like that. Ladies, please share your thoughts and experiences regarding age gaps, I’d really like to hear about the difference between having a 1-3 year old and a baby vs. having a 3.5-5+ year old and a baby!
