Irregular period cycle

I was just wondering if this happened to anyone else

I’ve always had an irregular Cycle. I skip a month or two usually, but I skipped four months consecutively right now, and had an active sex lite with no protection so I was worried but every pregnancy test I took was negative. I got my period again right January 16 and today is the 28th and it still has not gone away. Before this cycle I had not had my period since I September . Is this normal? I am 22 years old and overweight. I’m sure that has a lot to do with it but I wanted to reach out anyways. Thank you to anyone who reads this!
