Anyone else scared to have another baby because of Cholestasis?
Me and my husband already know we want to have another baby once my daughter is about 3. We don’t want to have them too close, as we really want to enjoy our time focusing and loving our daughter to the fullest potential. (We prayed so hard for a baby girl so we want to really enjoy it while she’s little), but we also want them to be close enough together to be able to have a good relationship.
The only thing that really kills my excitement is the fact that I had Cholestasis with my daughter and it was absolute TORTURE from the severe itching. Most people who get it, get it sometime after 30 weeks, but I had to deal with it from 20 weeks on. It was misery. Apparently you have over an 80-90% chance of getting it again in future pregnancies.
Honestly it’s the only thing that makes it impossible for my husband and everyone else to convince me to have a second one sooner. I just am terrified of having to endure the physical and mental torture again. Not everyone gets it super bad or has to deal with it for more than a week, but I had it SOOO bad for months.
Anyone else with me? Most people I talk to only had to experience the torturous itching for about a week because they were close to 36 weeks by the time they developed it and was able to be induced (for the safety of the baby of course).
This is my itchy baby lol she’s the best gift for enduring the worst pregnancy. ❤️
