Parenting Schedule Change

How does one make a schedule that is best for a child in school when parents live in different cities? My oldest's dad may be moving in with his girlfriend in a different city. We coparent well, and my child adores his girlfriend. My child's happy, I'm happy. We do not go through the court, we work well together on scheduling.

Child goes to school in our town and has sports 3xs a week that they attend after school. He may be moving 30mins+ away instead of the 15mins he does now. I want to ensure my child gets adequate time with their father, just not sure what the best schedule would be.
