College/long distance
My boyfriend and I started dating our junior year of high school, which was two years ago. Now that we are both freshman at two different universities that are an hour apart from each other, we never see each other. He used to visit me on the weekends (he has a car, I don’t) but this semester he said he wants to stay at school on the weekends so he can focus on his schoolwork. I see where he’s coming from because he failed a class last semester that he now has to retake, but I still feel like he should make time for me. I text him all the time and most of the time he leaves me on read or replies hours later. I always make time for him but he hardly makes time for me. I also have a part time job while being a full time student, while he just goes to school. I try to tell him that I want him to visit on the weekends but he keeps telling me that he needs to focus on school. It would be okay if we FaceTimed during the week but apparently he doesn’t even have time for that. I don’t know what to do. I love him and we always talk about how we are going to be together after we both finish college but it’s just so hard right now. I went from seeing him everyday during highschool, to seeing him on the weekends, and now nothing. How do I cope?? Should I tell him that he should make time for me???
