What do your babies sleep in when first born?

Was just wondering if any lovely mummy’s on here could help! I have a next to me crib for when my daughter is first born with a fitted sheet on the mattress, I’m just wondering what everyone does for the top layer? 
I’ve heard of people using sleeping bags which I like the idea of but not sure if this is suitable when they are super tiny? 
If I’m to use blankets/swaddling is there a certain technique so that it’s not dangerous?!

Get the newborn sacks it’s super easy to use as the zip up and they feel swaddled. It’s for newborns.

I used a blanket and kept baby far down so they couldn’t wriggle underneath.

I’m just going to swaddle, he’ll be asleep for weeks anyway

I just had my son in sleepers and gowns. I didn’t swaddle because I wasn’t very good at it. You also have to think of easy access for middle of the night diaper changes. They have Velcro and zipper swaddles that are handy (they didn’t have those when I had my first). No other bedding except for the fitted sheet.
