Pacifier?

How long did you wait to introduce a pacifier? My 1st born wouldn’t nurse, so I never felt bad about giving one since I knew exactly how much she was getting.  My new LO is nursing great, but I’m quickly becoming a human pacifier for this week old baby.   Honest thoughts?

I tried to wait 2 weeks but we ended up using it very rarely when he needs to soothe by sucking. Only after feeds and only until he drops it.

I was planning to wait until breastfeeding was established, but when the nurses brought baby girl back from her newborn testing about 12-24 hours after birth she had a pacifier in her mouth. 🤷🏻‍♀️ fortunately no issues or confusion arose so we just went with it and she’s doing fine with pacifier and feeding

I started offering it after feeds when she was 3 days old, after she had unlatched herself and was content. But now at 3.5 weeks guess who's a human pacifier because baby decided she now doesn't like her dummy 🙋

I gave my son one his second day. We just made sure to switch the type of pacifier and now nipples on bottles when I pump. He’s taken all of them like a champ, and it didn’t seem to affect his nursing at all. I think making him get used to several different types helped.

I think if her latching is good then introduce her to one.
