Miscarriage experience with pill / medication

Rebecca

Sharing my story since I read so many while I waited for my miscarriage.

Baby’s heartbeat stopped at 8 weeks, found out at 10. I never had any spotting or symptoms other than having more energy and feeling less urgently hungry. Waited until 12 weeks to finally take the combo of Mifepristone and Misoprostol after realizing the natural route is taking too long. I took the Mife in a clinic (MD had to watch) and the Miso at home vaginally (inserted 4) 30 hours later. I took some nausea meds, 2 ibuprofen & a heating pad. I REALLY think that it was less intense than I had expected because of those meds and the heating pad! I would strongly recommend these! No spotting and just mild cramping until 2.5 hours after when I just felt a surprising POP and a gush - it felt like a balloon just popped inside of me. The bleeding started. After another hour, I got up and felt a fullness in my upper vagina and decided to push. I had a toilet hat on my toilet to help me keep track of the clots. When I pushed, blood came out like a stream when you urinate. Tissue started to come out as well. With the ibuprofen, it just felt like a really really crappy period. My cramps were never striking, just dull, sore, coming and going. My lower abdomen stayed sore throughout. At least every hour, sometimes less, I got up to have a good push. A lot of blood comes out, and the amount and thickness of the placenta tissue is quite surprisingly. I spent most of my time in bed with a pad on watching Netflix, and that was fine. I took another ibuprofen 3 hours & again 4 hours after the first 2. Another nausea med 5 hours after the first. I was able to eat and drink and be fine throughout. Stand up slowly so you don’t get dizzy. It lasted for about 6 hours, I waited until 7 before I went to bed. I never did see tissue that resembled the 8 week embryo, so I’m still a bit worried. It’s been exactly 3 days since I took the miso, and I’m still feeling a bit sore and occasionally cramping. Still bleeding like the first or second day of a period, but not filling pads. Hoping that it’s all been expelled, will update in the comments once I know more from my doctor. Good luck with your situation, hope my info helps!
