When to Move to Crib?

If you use an automatic motion surface for sleeping (i.e. swing, bouncer, rock-n-play), when do you start to move your LO into their crib?

I hope you don’t use any of those except a crib for your poor baby to sleep in. 🙏

Start with naps in the crib. You will be less frustrated during the day if he won’t go down. It’s going to take some time to get used to. Once he outgrows what he’s sleeping in now, move him there for nights.

It was around 7-8 weeks and I was so relieved bc I know they’re not supposed to sleep in those.

We did, and yes our doc knew because of reflux. We used a swing that was like a rock n play. At 4 months we just put her in her crib with a swaddle and never looked back. She didnt like swaddle where her arms werent free...but she loved the space of the crib.

My sone slept in his swing until 3 months old then I moved him to his crib. I hated him sleeping in it but he’d only sleep in his crib if he was on his tummy 🤦🏻‍♀️ so needless to say I barely got any sleep because I was always checking on him but it worked out

If you’re using those to sleep your LO in then the sooner the better when it comes to moving them into the crib. They will get used to the motion and you’ll have an even tougher time breaking it the longer you wait. I slept my LO in his pack and play until he was 8 months and then decided to move him over to his crib because it seemed like it was starting to get uncomfortable for him.
