how do i make it stop??

I’ve had anxiety since I was a child, and my whole life when my anxiety got bad, I’d get what I call the “anxiety itch,” where my whole body feels like it’s on fire, and as soon as i scratch one itchy place away, somewhere else feels like there are ants crawling all over it.

Recently, it’s gotten to the point where no amount of scratching will help, and i’m even getting to the point where i draw blood trying to scratch the itchiness away.

I don’t want to keep mutilating myself, but the itchiness gets so painful that i can’t help but scratch.

is this a normal symptom of anxiety?

how do i soothe it or make it stop??
