Ovulation and birth control?

Question

Do I still ovulate when I’m on birth control like the implant, or iuds? I’m just curious and please no mean comments. I don’t have access to this kind of education or knowledge on this stuff and sex Ed and you do and am just looking for answers.

I agree with the other comment- typically, with hormonal BC, it stops you from ovulating as a way to block pregnancy. The pill stops ovulation altogether if taken correctly. Hormonal IUD’s and implants suppress ovulation- which means it can stop ovulation altogether, or you can keep ovulating normally- neither means you’re at more of a risk of getting pregnant, it’s still working, it’s just affecting your body differently. And like the other comment mentioned, the copper IUD still allows normal ovulation.

Typically no. Any hormonal birth control such as the pill, implants or IUDs you do not ovulate. The only one you may ovulate on is the copper IUD as it is hormone free. Hope this helps.
