How long did you wait to announce your pregnancy openly to everyone?

I just feel like it’s important that everyone knows that there is no “wrong” or “right” time. Yes, there are recommendations but it should be your own experience. 
I am in a weird situation. I am nearly six weeks pregnant and also in 10-hour daily treatment for an eating disorder and trauma. I had to share that I was pregnant with everyone at the facility because of the support I needed and because a lot of pregnancy symptoms look like a relapse. Also, I was told I could not conceive so the fact that I could was extremely exciting (yes, I am still realistic about all the risks)! I’ve had SO many people at my treatment tell me it’s “bad luck” to say something so early (I am already paranoid enough as it is) and they have no right to say that. I am holding off on telling anyone and everyone but I think the fact that I could conceive is something I want to celebrate openly. A lot of women with eating disorders are told they are infertile and I have been told I have given people at my treatment hope for the future- I would love to share that hope with more people when more time has passed.

34 weeks. I would have waited until birth, except I had a friend post a photo from my baby shower on Facebook so I started getting too many questions. I was pretty terrified of a miscarriage or stillbirth my whole pregnancy, which is why I wasn’t too excited about posting it, plus I didn’t want all of the unsolicited advice or ads.

We told both our families by 16 weeks, and posted an announcement by 21 weeks when we took our yearly family photos in the fall.

We told our parents after we found out, a round 4 weeks. Didn't announce until around 12 weeks. Looking back I wish we would've waited or just kept it private.

We told family at 4ish weeks, right when we found out. I wanted to wait and he didn’t but no way in hell was his mother going to know before mine! 😂 I asked him to wait to tell other people but he’s too excited and now every single person in his unit (he’s Army) knows and I have friends I haven’t told congratulating me. The man is lucky he’s so cute. We’re waiting to announce on social media until at least the second trimester.

Waited until after about 13 weeks because that's when we saw our baby's heart beat. I've had a previous loss so I didn't want to announce just to then lose another baby.

Announce online? Never. I don't have a Facebook or anything anymore, but even when I did I never put up posts about my life or my daughter's. But just telling people I know, in person, I waited until after the 12 week mark.

We told our families at 5 weeks, and my youngest sister told all of her friends that night because she left to text everyone before we said not to tell people. So we ended up telling everyone by the time i was 6 weeks. Which worked out because I was pretty sick and I was glad my coworkers knew what was going on. We announced on Facebook at 14 weeks for our Christmas card thing.

Told my family after about 16 weeks and everyone else who didn’t physically see me after birth. But I really never told anyone other than my parents. Everyone else either saw or heard from my parents.
