The after party
Epidural vs unmedicated
First 2 babies were unmedicated birth center. 8 hours was the longest 3 hours second time. Pushed for 5 or so min. Just one or two contractions. Loved the midwife and experience all around. Yep, painful.
Epidural baby 3, long labor. Didn't get epidural right away but it definitely slowed things down. Pushed for 40 min.
The big difference is the recovery. With the long pushing time I made a lot of muscles sore. I feel like I was in a car accident. After unmedicated, I was walking and felt great. Back to myself within a day.
Babies need to be reminded of the womb. That was their home they left to be with us! White nose for babies on you tube has been great. Glad that I didn't buy one of those things.
Even after breastfeeding 2 before, meeting with the lactation consultant before I left the hospital was the best thing I could have done. Latching is not just the baby sucking. That nip has to go deep, and all babies are different.
I hated the hospital stay. So many people in and out of the room dear God. I made so many requests to be left alone.. nope! They do offer a "do not disturb" sign.. it didn't work.
My nipples feel like they have been crucified every time he eats. But I love my Theodore so much. Good luck y'all
