Positive induction stories????

I’m being induced today at 40+1 . This is my first pregnancy and I’m extremely nervous, I’ve been up all night I can’t stop thinking about it 😂😂😂 just looking for some positive stories or tips to make myself feel a little at ease

Just had baby #4. I was induced with all but # 3. All were quick births but I’ll tell you the story of my last. Got to the hospital at 4 am. Got all hooked up and checked and she said I was at a 5 already but the baby was super high up and cervix still only 50% effaced. I got the pitocin going and a couple hours later was checked and was at a 6! I went ahead and got the epidural around 8 as I knew my dr would be in soon to break my water and it was going to be more intense from there. So got the epidural, she came in and broke my water around 9:30, she checked me and was still at a 6. The nurse came and increased my amount of pitocin and the dr came in at 10:30 and said she was about to go do a surgery but wanted to check me one last time beforehand. She checks and said to the nurse “she’s complete!” So they prepared me to push. I started pushing on the next contraction and the nurse started counting quickly when she got to 6 so I knew the baby was coming fast. Next contraction I pushed and she came out! So easy she was born 7 minutes later at 10:37 am. I had my tubes tied a few hours later. Sorry if parts of this don’t make sense, I’m on a lack of sleep right now and can barely keep my eyes open as I type this. But you got this! You’ll do just fine. Good luck to you!!

FTM and my induction went amazing for the most part. I got there at 6 am. 2 cm dilated.They went to put the iv in and the nurse blew my vein. Luckily she was the night shift nurse and about to leave. Around 8 they came in and checked me and started the pitocin. By 1 I had only dialate to a 3. She said she wanted to break my water within the next hour and now would be a good time to get an epidural if I wanted one. I didnt want one but I had also heard alot of people say it can make your body relax and dilate faster. I got one and it hurt like hell. However after I got it and was numb I didnt even care about how bad it had hurt. The nurse made me roll onto my side and i took a nap. I woke up around 4 and could feel every contraction on my right side but I could also feel the pressure to push. The nurse came in and checked me and told me to get ready to push. I had a complete meltdown and told her I wasnt pushing until they fixed my epidural. Like that was really going to be an option. My doctor and the anesthesiologist were in the O.R. so I had to wait another 45 minutes for it to be fixed. Once they fixed it a was completely ready. Pushed a few times while having a casual conversation with the nurse between contractions. She finally got my doctor in the room and we continued to have random conversations until baby was right there. They got everything ready and she was out a few pushes later at 6:27. I felt absolutely nothing and as weird as it sounds it made it so comfortable having conversations. The 2 nurses that were there through delivery were amazing. Once they moved me to the recovery room the nurses were absolutely horrible. However one of the nurses from delivery came and checked on me a few times the next day which was super nice.

So went in at 10 am, started pitocin around 11, around 1pm my water broke. Thennnn the contractions started. Like woahhhh all of a sudden major pain. They gave me an epidural around 2, and then my blood pressure completely dropped to the point where I honestly don’t remember some things, they put me on 02, and had to stop the epidural. They gave me a liter of fluid to bring up my pressure, then tried to restart the epidural but it wasn’t working. I was literally DYING. I got all the way up to 10cm dilated without the epidural and they were like okay let’s push and I said not until you get the epidural fixed! I’m not even sure what they did but it started semi working so I started pushing. But the epidural wasn’t fully working at that point because I was able to move my legs and push on my hands and knees at some points. Pushed for an hour and 6 minutes, had him at 7:36pm so pretty fast for an induction. They had to cut me cuz his noggin was just not fitting through and I was so freaking tired I had no more energy. But then once the shoulder comes out he basically just fell out lol and he’s beyond perfect!

Just had my first baby girl on the 27th by induction. My water had partially ruptured and was having minor contractions so was told to go home for a few hours and wait to see if it would break all the way, which did not happen so my DH and I went to the hospital at 6pm on the 26th.  Got all checked in and started on cytotec (a pill form of induction) at 8pm. Got a a few hours of rest before contractions got more intense. It wasn’t until the afternoon on the 27th that they started me in pictocin (IV induction) It definitely made the contractions more intense but I opted for the epidural which made my experience SO much better. I do think being induced made my labor a lot longer but nothing the nurses and my support people couldn’t help with. I gave birth by 10 pm, after only pushing for one hour! And the pushing was tiring but seemed to be the less painful part. Nothing you can do about contractions but you’ll be so preoccupied with the knowledge that your about to meet your baby that it won’t matter! I don’t have a non induction to compare with but honestly DONT be scared! Once you’re in the hospital your maternal instinct will kick in. You’ve GOT THIS!! Now my beautiful daughter is home with me and the labor was more than worth it. Eat before you go, they will probably put you on a clear liquid diet of jello and pop cicles and you will wish you ate! I ate and was so happy I did after being in labor that long. Good luck!

I was induced with my first a couple weeks ago due to high BP. I had been dilated to a 4 since 36 weeks! They broke my water around 4:30 pm but didn’t do much they started pitocin at 8:00 pm and little man came at 5:14 am. I have nothing to compare it to, but it was a positive experience for us! Good luck momma you got this! Your instincts just take over
