Needing support and ideas

Joanne

Hey everyone, I need some help. I’m 36 and I’ve had 6 IUIs with no success. I have enough donor sperm for another 4 tries. I know statistically my odds significantly decrease after 6 though.

My wife and I have looked into pretty much every option for becoming parents. We’ve researched adoptions, foster programs, and just recently IVF. I always thought that IVF would be our fall-back. It was the last resort. But yesterday when I met with the financial consultant at my Dr’s office I was informed that the total cost for just one attempted would be upwards of $27,000, which of course they need up-front and lump sum. They don’t offer payment plans and the best suggestion they have is for me to try to get a loan with lending tree. I’m concerned that if the IVF fails I’ll have to pay for a second try and, additionally, that if I’m lucky enough to finally get pregnant I’ll be financially strapped from paying for all the treatments.

We’re open to anything and aren’t picky. Does anyone else have any ideas? We just don’t have that kind of money. I did find some lower cost clinics outside of Florida (where I reside) which I’m looking into. But after 4 years of trying, and learning that my fall back plan is impossible, I’m feeling depressed and anxious. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
