For babies born with colored or light eyes, when did it change?

My son was born with blue eyes and they are still blue but he is only 10 months old. I’ve always wondered what age babies truly get their eye color because my youngest sister (she’s 8 months old), one of her eye is blue while her other eye is half blue, half brown! Not even kidding and they have been that way since birth. My mom looks at her eye everyday and wonders what color it will be. The pedi said it’s just fine and it could just stay that way for the rest of her life and he also said most babies have their permanent eye color by the age of 2! But my pedi says 1... so not sure 🤔

Most babies will have their true eye color by 12 months. It tends to change between 9-12 months
