Can I start birth control mid cycle?
We are taking a break from trying to conceive- possibly permanently. I just had a period on 1/16 and finished on 1/20.
I have pcos and my cycles can be long and unpredictable.
Is it possible to start birth control right away or do I need to wait until I have another period before I can start?
More info:
We don’t want to get pregnant this cycle but my husband doesn’t like condoms and is refusing to wear them.
He isn’t reliable with the pull out method either because he’s not into how it feels I guess. Too much stress to try and judge when he’s about to go and he’s worried he’ll go too fast and miss the chance to pull out.
Birth control feels like our more reliable method at this point.
We have three kids and have been trying for a 4th for almost a year. Our youngest is about to be six. We have decided to buy a bigger house this year and my husband, who was a stay at home dad, has decided he wants to return to work (which I fully support). So now life is changing and the timing is all off. Our heads just aren’t in the baby space anymore.
