Has anyone been induced before? Stories? How was it?

I am due in 7 days but my doctor said I am not dilated and he can’t even feel the baby’s head. He scheduled an induction for me on February 11th and I am freaking out. My first baby came naturally two days before the due date. I figured that this baby, being the 2nd, would come even earlier. I never thought that this would be happening. Please tell me if you have been induced before and was it terrible or ????

I was with baby #2. It’s stronger than natural only because the contractions start close together. I didn’t find it any worse or any longer. I did it all natural in 6 hours and was not dilated at all prior to induction. Only used pitocin.

Women can go from no dilation to having their baby in less than a day! Don’t let the doctor push you into an induction unless that’s what you really want. Inductions are harder on your body and if the baby is not in distress, you should let him/her (your baby) decide when its time. Just my 2 cents :)

If you're induced it's a simple painless process and if you're like me you'll get contractions a few hrs later, you're no more likely to need further intervention than if you went into labour naturally you just can't have certain types of birth (in the UK anyway) no water birth for example.
I have heard induced labour is more painful than natural, but I don't have a natural one to compare it to, my labour was about 6hrs and waters broke naturally and no tearing so overall not a bad experience of being induced, I hope it goes well for you

My mom was induced with her 3rd after giving birth 2 times naturally with no medications. the pain of the contractions were worse than normal labor contractions and she got the epidural bc of it. But everything was fine! No need to be scared. And just so you know— some women can be 0cm and then start progressing really quickly, and others can be 4cm and just stop progressing for even weeks!! See what your body will do and then if baby still doesn’t come then induction will probably have to happen. Of course you can deny it and wait on your own, but do what you feel is best!!

Yes I was induced Jan 22nd and delivered on the 23rd at 12:46pm with 10 pushes within 20mins..he was out, it was a slow natural process allowing me to slowly bring on contractions.

I should add that at my appointment last week I saw another doctor from the office and she said that the baby was going to come early and that I was 2cm and she def felt his head...
